Studio art students investigate and produce works through the vocabulary of two- and three-dimensional forms, spatial relationships, and temporal elements across diverse mediums such as ceramics, digital arts, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Undergraduates can choose between two studio art degree paths. The bachelor of arts in studio art offers a broad liberal arts foundation, while the bachelor of fine arts provides professional preparation for artistic careers or advanced studies.
Both Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts sculpture students engage in an immersive studio program enriched by collaborative exchanges, visiting artist sessions, technical demonstrations, and critical evaluations. The current curriculum prioritizes artistic excellence, technical proficiency, and comprehensive exposure to sculpture's historical context alongside modern artistic theories and methods. Student work spans conventional techniques like fabrication, modeling, casting, and carving to innovative approaches involving video, performance, and multimedia installations, fostering interdisciplinary exploration that celebrates each individual's distinctive perspective and creative voice.
