Computer Engineers utilize algorithmic and digital design concepts to create, develop, and evaluate computer software and hardware elements that facilitate information processing, data exchange, and storage, often integrated into complex engineered systems and networked infrastructures. Their work spans diverse fields such as telecommunications, automation, robotics, energy systems, healthcare, commerce, cybersecurity, entertainment, and beyond. The Computer Engineering curriculum spans four years, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.
Students gain hands-on experience applying technical expertise to design and manage systems ranging from compact microcontroller chips in household appliances to sophisticated computing systems for aerospace applications. The program teaches the foundational principles of binary systems that underpin all digital technology. Additionally, students develop critical thinking skills to consider the wider societal implications of their work.
