International Studies (ITS) takes a multidisciplinary approach to global understanding. The curriculum incorporates elements from economics, anthropology, geography, history, and political science. ITS students develop foreign language skills, participate in study abroad programs, and examine modern challenges through diverse viewpoints. The program features an interdisciplinary foundation covering global politics, international economics, world history, political geography, cross-cultural studies (anthropology), and foreign languages. This comprehensive major equips students to interpret and evaluate significant matters in international and multicultural frameworks. While many institutions focus on specific regions, Miami University offers a holistic global perspective. Designed for those seeking wide-ranging knowledge, this program prepares students to assess critical issues in international and multicultural settings. The adaptable course structure serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies or careers in government, global business, education, tourism, public affairs, cultural exchange, and legal fields.
