Environmental Earth Science combines physical and biological sciences to examine Earth's environmental systems. This broad field encompasses all scientific studies concerning our planet. As a student in this program, you'll explore diverse interdisciplinary areas to develop solutions for environmental challenges and create sustainable resource policies. The curriculum features foundational courses in geosciences, environmental studies, hydrogeology, geomorphology, and sedimentology/stratigraphy. Students can choose from advanced electives focusing on environmental topics, scientific methodologies, or interdisciplinary approaches. With approval, some electives may be completed through related natural science or Geography courses. Graduates often find careers in environmental consulting, energy companies, government organizations like the National Park Service, EPA, or public health agencies.
