Students aspiring to instruct social science or social studies classes for high school (grades 9-12) enroll in the secondary/high school educator training program. This curriculum includes comprehensive professional education classes alongside rigorous subject-specific studies. Every teacher training initiative also incorporates substantial hands-on practice in affiliated schools.

Before admission, transfer applicants might be required to achieve a score of 220 or above on the MoGEA and/or MoCA exams, contingent on how many credit hours they can transfer to Maryville University.

Qualification Requirements

A high school diploma with a minimum of 22 units of credit including four units of English, three units of mathematics, three units of science, three units of social sciences (social studies), and three additional units in any of the above areas or in a foreign language.
A high school grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
Official course-by-course transcript evaluation with GPA calculation from a NACES member evaluation service (naces.org) for all secondary transcripts outside the U.S. or Canda.
Students mid-program should send the official in-progress course-by-course evaluation to Maryville. Upon graduation from secondary school, the final official transcript and/or diploma should be sent directly to Maryville.
Proof of English proficiency.
TOEFL: 69 overall with no subscore lower than 15, or
IELTS: 6.0 with no subscore lower than 5, or
DET: 95, or
