The Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE) program prepares students for professional roles as economic, market, or financial analysts across various sectors including private industry, government agencies, and financial institutions. This degree equips learners with a strong foundation in economic principles and hands-on training in advanced quantitative methods essential for careers as business economists, financial analysts, policy researchers, government economists, or consulting professionals. Unlike conventional academic economics master's programs, Marquette's MSAE focuses on cultivating practical competencies for addressing real-world business and policy challenges. The coursework trains professionals capable of creating, implementing, and analyzing economic models, with an emphasis on applying economic theories and quantitative tools rather than theoretical derivations. The curriculum also prioritizes communication development through regular written reports and oral presentations of applied research findings. Most students finish the program within three to four semesters.
