Marquette's graduate communication program equips students with the knowledge and skills to become thoughtful, creative, and ethical leaders in our technology-driven, diverse society. The curriculum builds on fundamental principles, shared values, and communication techniques to deepen awareness of communication as both cultural and social phenomena while honing abilities needed to thrive in evolving information landscapes. Graduate students collaborate directly with distinguished faculty while benefiting from Milwaukee's vibrant urban setting and the Diederich College's connections with leading communication experts.
The adaptable Master of Arts program supports diverse professional aspirations within communication fields. While some enrolled professionals seek career advancement through graduate study, others aim for academic careers or doctoral studies, and some pursue personal intellectual growth. Students can customize their M.A. in Communication by selecting between two focus areas: Communication and Media Studies or Digital Communication Strategies, aligning with their individual ambitions.
