Expand your understanding of core principles in analyzing, designing, building, and enhancing mechanical systems. Engineering fundamentals extend beyond conventional tools and techniques to encompass cutting-edge and developing technologies. Coursework and research in engineering are typically complemented by hands-on laboratory work. While advanced engineering mathematics and foundational sciences form essential components across all programs, subject choices may differ based on specialization areas and career goals. Doctoral candidates must develop a study plan in consultation with their primary advisor, documented on an approved Doctoral Program Planning Form during their first year. Demonstrate proficiency in advanced engineering mathematics and two specialized fields within the department (mechanical systems, energy systems, or manufacturing and materials systems). Share specialized knowledge through peer-reviewed publications or presentations. Undertake innovative research within your chosen specialization area.
