Mastering Spanish communication is a vital skill for professionals in today's global workforce, enabling effective interaction with Spanish speakers both domestically and internationally. The Spanish program equips students with core language structures while fostering cross-cultural understanding. Advanced courses blend cultural exploration, literary analysis, and linguistic studies. Students also engage in hands-on learning experiences to examine Spanish language and Latino culture through classroom instruction and community immersion across Michigan, the U.S., and overseas.
This program aims to develop students' Spanish proficiency to advanced levels as measured by the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) standards.
