The education specialist degree in school psychology bridges the gap between a master's and doctoral degree. What makes our program unique is its strong focus on equity and social justice principles. This program is particularly well-suited for aspiring school psychologists aiming to serve in urban school settings. As part of the school psychologist degree, you'll collaborate with Loyola faculty to address issues of educational disparity and develop skills for ensuring equitable service distribution to all students. The curriculum prepares you to partner with teachers, families, and community stakeholders while delivering comprehensive academic, behavioral, and mental health services to students from preschool through high school. Copies of transcripts or transcripts not received in a sealed envelope from the university are considered unofficial. If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request transcripts. We strongly encourage electronic submission of documents. Official transcripts should show a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In exceptional cases, applicants whose undergraduate GPA is below 3.0 may be admitted.
