In our modern society, there's a growing demand for spiritual leaders and counseling services within faith-based communities and spiritually focused environments. Loyola's Institute of Pastoral Studies addresses this need through its combined MDiv/MA in Pastoral Counseling (MDiv/MAPC) program, equipping students for meaningful vocations in ministry and therapeutic care.
Enrolled in this dual-degree curriculum, you'll develop extensive ministerial leadership skills while acquiring specialized training in spiritually-grounded mental health counseling, qualifying you for state licensure (LPC, LCPC) and preparing you for both secular and religious professional settings.
This MDiv/MA in Pastoral Counseling program offers flexible scheduling options, available full-time or part-time, with both on-campus and online formats. Evening classes take place at Loyola's Water Tower Campus, easily accessible via Chicago's Red Line in the city center.
As part of the nationwide Jesuit educational network comprising 27 institutions, Loyola graduates benefit from comprehensive career support including professional guidance, resume workshops, interview preparation, job fairs, and employment opportunities through our Career Services and partner Jesuit universities across the country.
