Loyola's Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology program provides diverse research opportunities for undergraduates. The program's strong reputation helps students land internships at hospitals, medical device firms, zoological institutions, biotechnology companies, and various other organizations.
Upon finishing the Biology Major, graduates will:
Demonstrate understanding of core biological principles by addressing knowledge-based questions (Bloom's taxonomy levels 1-2) and mastering essential terminology across biology's subdisciplines. They'll gain competency with standard lab instruments. Graduates will develop skills to access, analyze, and assess scientific literature critically.
They'll effectively communicate scientific findings and interpretations through both oral presentations and written work.
Students will acquire the ability to create and conduct hypothesis-driven experiments, process data, present outcomes, and explain the implications of their research.
