Pursuing a major in Classical Studies, whether focusing on Classical Civilization, Latin, or Ancient Greek, offers comprehensive insight into Western cultural heritage. Minors in these same disciplines (available for all three areas) significantly enrich a student's liberal arts background. These programs serve as strong foundations for pre-law, pre-medical tracks, business ventures, and various professions: students develop interdisciplinary thinking skills, allowing them to leverage holistic cultural perspectives. Explore career possibilities further on our Career Resources page and Beyond the B.A. section. Those aiming for graduate studies in Classics should enroll in both language courses and pursue a Latin and/or Greek major. Our program boasts a strong track record of placing graduates in top-tier programs across the country. Ancient language majors or minors also provide excellent preparation for advanced studies in Theology, Ancient History, Philosophy, Classical Art & Archaeology, or for secondary education careers.
