The Spanish major/minor curriculum equips students with fluency in Spanish and deep understanding of Hispanic cultures. Our program develops comprehensive language skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and critical analysis while offering advanced studies in literature and arts. Courses promote cross-cultural awareness as a foundation for global cooperation, mutual understanding, and equitable societies. Numerous Spanish students pursue dual degrees, frequently pairing with Business Administration, Accounting, Natural Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Theology, Communication Studies, or English.
Exceptional students may be selected by faculty as teaching or research assistants, or secure positions at our Language Center. Many become members of the prestigious Spanish Honor Society (Iota Rho of Sigma Delta Pi) and have their scholarly articles or creative writings featured in La Voz, the dynamic journal published by our active Spanish Club.
