The LSU School of Art provides graduate students with seven specialization options for their Master of Fine Arts degree: ceramics, digital media, graphic design, painting & drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. This three-year MFA program mandates 60 credit hours of study, along with a thesis, a public showcase, and an oral presentation defending their creative work. Studio art classes equip learners for diverse professional paths in visual arts. Undergraduates in studio art programs acquire skills to interpret visual communication, react to artistic stimuli, and instinctively structure their observations and ideas. They gain proficiency in various artistic methods, study significant art historical milestones, analyze modern perspectives on art and design, and develop the ability to critically evaluate artistic and design works.
