The School of Architecture stands at the forefront of developing exceptional professional skills and scholarly research on constructed spaces, embracing varied viewpoints, interdisciplinary knowledge, and practical studies rooted in the Mississippi Delta while addressing worldwide contexts. Following the stated mission, the MArch program includes coursework in architectural history, design theory, sustainable practices, construction technology, digital manufacturing, and city planning. This NAAB-accredited program requires 96 credit hours, typically completed in at least three years (see curriculum details below). Prospective students need not possess an undergraduate architecture degree for admission. Those with a pre-professional architecture background may be eligible for advanced placement, reducing their course load to 60 credits over approximately two years. Graduate candidates must fulfill 36 credit hours of advanced study, with at least 18 credits at the 7000-level.
