The JD/MPA program is tailored for students pursuing simultaneous Juris Doctor and Master of Public Administration degrees. This dual-degree opportunity is a collaboration between LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center and the E. J. Ourso College of Business.
Participants can begin with the MPA curriculum, finishing 24 semester hours before taking three extra MPA credits during summer sessions. The following year would then be dedicated to law school coursework at LSU.
After completing foundational studies in both programs, students can enroll in classes from both disciplines simultaneously. Notably, certain law school classes fulfill credit requirements for the MPA degree.
Another option involves starting with law school before transitioning to MPA studies. Faculty advisors assist students in creating a four-year academic plan to successfully complete this combined degree program.
