The public health communication certificate equips both recent graduates and experienced professionals in public health and journalism to clearly convey scientific information about health policies and programs to diverse audiences. This program readies graduates for careers in health education, hospital communications, government health agencies, non-profits, and other related fields. Key learning outcomes include: a) Mastering core public health concepts, b) Gaining expertise in social and behavioral aspects of public health, c) Developing media literacy and audience outreach skills for health reporting. The 15-credit curriculum features three required courses plus two electives. Participants can complete the program within one year by enrolling in two courses per semester for two semesters and one course in another term. Certificate coursework may be transferred toward a Master of Public Health degree.
