Educating elementary school students with special needs demands commitment and expertise. The 30-credit Master of Science in Students with Disabilities (M.S.Ed.) equips you to develop impactful learning spaces for students confronting diverse challenges, such as intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and learning differences. These specialized focus areas are integrated into a single, thorough curriculum spanning all grade levels.
Your studies will encompass classroom organization along with identifying and addressing learning difficulties. You'll gain expertise in promoting inclusion - an approach that maintains special needs students in mainstream classrooms while offering supplemental support. Optional coursework explores technology applications in special education, insights into neurologically impaired children, and evaluating and teaching students with autism. Guided teaching placements provide hands-on experience working with this unique student group.
CAEP-accredited, the M.S.Ed. in Students with Disabilities program demonstrates adherence to the most rigorous educational standards, producing skilled, compassionate educators prepared to teach and lead in both public and private school settings.
