The 42-credit Master of Public Administration in Health Administration, accredited by N.A.S.P.A.A., equips students for diverse career opportunities in this expanding field. This adaptable curriculum allows customization to meet individual career goals through specialized courses that enable deeper exploration of specific management functions or application areas. Specialization options encompass healthcare administration, healthcare management, healthcare policy, and aging/long-term care. Additional focus areas can be designed in collaboration with faculty advisors, drawing from the program's extensive course offerings and cross-campus resources.
The curriculum consists of four key components:
A 15-credit introductory sequence covering public sector fundamentals and essential skills
9 credits concentrating on management subjects, including personnel management
Financial planning and fiscal oversight
Legal considerations and organizational responsibility
Official transcripts as proof of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Full matriculation admission requires an official transcript showing an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0. Limited matriculation may be available to applicants who do not meet full matriculation requirements. Candidates with grade point averages of 2.5 or less must contact the M.P.A. program director before submitting an application.
