The Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology offers a robust science and liberal arts education combined with extensive veterinary technology coursework. This program equips students with fundamental knowledge for professional practice while fostering lifelong learning skills. By integrating classroom instruction with hands-on clinical training, students gain practical expertise, conceptual knowledge, and analytical abilities for solving real-world challenges. Our goal is to develop graduates with strong communication skills and clinical proficiency who can deliver excellent care to diverse communities. Clinical externships occur at top-tier local and national veterinary facilities, with instruction covering both large and small animal care (focusing primarily on small animals). Students complete more than 500 hours of practical training across various settings including shelters, private clinics, and major hospitals.
Upon acceptance into the program, students must maintain academic performance in coursework and meet practical standards during labs and externships, as detailed in the student handbook.
