Clinical Laboratory Scientists are trained experts who have successfully completed rigorous national certification exams and obtained New York State licensure to practice across multiple clinical laboratory specialties such as hematology, microbiology, blood banking, clinical chemistry, immunology, and molecular diagnostics (as CLS generalists). These professionals are essential in identifying, diagnosing, and managing diseases. Through advanced laboratory instrumentation, CLS generalists conduct comprehensive testing of cellular components, blood samples, and bodily fluids to identify irregularities. They provide crucial diagnostic data that physicians rely on to establish and track patient treatment plans. Both the Bachelor's and Master's CLS programs maintain accreditation from the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, the premier accrediting organization for CLS education. These programs aim to surpass NAACLS-established standards for certification exam success, graduation outcomes, and job placement rates. The curriculum combines advanced theoretical knowledge with hands-on technical training.
