The Master of Science degree is primarily granted to students pursuing their Ph.D., though exceptional candidates may be admitted solely for the M.S. program. Required coursework consists of: two foundational classes in cognitive, developmental, or social psychology; two statistics and research methods courses; a professional development seminar; and two advisor-approved electives. Lehigh University's Psychology Department emphasizes research, fostering collaboration between graduate students and faculty across three specialties: cognitive, developmental, and social psychology. For specific research projects, visit our Areas of Specialization section and individual faculty/student profiles. Our department frequently partners with interdisciplinary programs like Health, Medicine and Society, Cognitive Science, and collaborates with the Colleges of Business and Education. Numerous laboratories also maintain partnerships with external research institutions.
