School psychologists support children and adolescents in achieving success across academic, social, and emotional domains. They work alongside teachers, families, and specialists to foster secure, nurturing educational settings that enhance home-school partnerships.
Our 60-credit M.S.Ed. in School Psychology equips students with essential competencies aligned with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) standards. These include: data-driven decision making, collaborative consultation, instructional effectiveness, social-emotional skill development, cultural responsiveness, educational systems understanding, school climate improvement, preventive strategies, crisis response, family-school partnerships, research methodologies, professional growth, and technology integration. This NYSED-registered program meets provisional certification requirements for school psychology practice.
Beyond the core curriculum, students may pursue one or both of these 6-credit specializations:
The Early Childhood track develops expertise in serving infants, preschoolers and their caregivers through two courses: infant assessment techniques and developmental theories. While not leading to additional certification, this specialization builds critical competencies for working with young populations.
The Bilingual concentration prepares professionals to serve multilingual learners through coursework in bilingual education and assessment. Candidates seeking bilingual certification must also pass either the NYSTCE's Bilingual Education Assessment or the discontinued TLPA exam. Details about the BEA are available at
Graduate Applicants must submit the Undergraduate transcripts.
English requirement: TOEFL: 79 and IELTS: 6.5
