Lehigh's Counseling and Human Services program holds accreditation from the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC). Graduates qualify to pursue licensure as Professional Counselors (LPC) in Pennsylvania. The M.Ed. curriculum equips students with comprehensive knowledge of professional counseling roles while developing specialized skills for effectively serving diverse populations across community, workplace, and family environments. With small class sizes, graduate students benefit from close mentorship by faculty who combine cutting-edge research with extensive practical experience. Research opportunities are offered, proving particularly beneficial for the approximately 25% of students continuing to doctoral studies. A dedicated clinical coordinator helps arrange fieldwork placements, including at the Community Voices Clinic - a school-based practice center where students refine counseling techniques under faculty and doctoral student supervision. Additional practicum options include mental health facilities and university counseling centers.
