Students pursuing a Global Studies degree must complete four semesters of language instruction in a non-English language. This can be achieved through AP foreign language credits, coursework at Lehigh University, classes taken at other institutions, or a mix of these options. Global Studies students develop a truly international perspective. The curriculum explores relationships between countries, organizations, and communities, along with the forces influencing modern society. Through the Global Studies (GS) program, learners gain insight into globalization's intricate mechanisms and contemporary global issues like environmental shifts, cultural diversity, community activism, health crises, gender relations, and widening wealth gaps. As an interdisciplinary initiative, GS connects students with faculty from diverse academic backgrounds including history, political science, linguistics, literature, sociology, anthropology, and more. The Global Studies program fosters academic exploration without being confined by traditional subject boundaries.
