The Master of Arts in Studio Art is designed for individuals who have prior training in art or design and seek to enhance their expertise in a specialized studio area (such as textiles, sculpture, printmaking, painting, jewelry/metals/enameling, glass, drawing, or ceramics). This program helps students create a professional portfolio for pursuing an M.F.A., advancing in their current careers, or refining technical abilities for industrial applications.

The Painting specialization integrates modern artistic approaches and critical discussions to equip students for artistic careers. Participants are urged to explore interdisciplinary methods and diverse techniques, fostering the creation of work that showcases their personal artistic exploration. Studio work is complemented by art history courses, guest artist talks, summer intensives, and study trips to destinations like New York City.
