Journalists serve as news gatherers, public monitors, and narrative creators. The Bachelor of Science in Journalism program trains students to report impactful, real-world stories. Through various tools—from cameras and microphones to smartphones and computers—students develop journalistic skills through hands-on experience both in academic settings and beyond.

By acquiring essential abilities for multimedia storytelling, journalism majors hone their skills within Kent State's acclaimed student publications. Through these platforms, they master audience engagement across television, radio, digital channels, social networks, and traditional print media.

Students create news and feature materials for visual, digital, and innovative media formats while implementing their knowledge during mandatory professional internships.
