The Integrated Science Bachelor of Science in Education is a five-year program designed to qualify graduates for science teaching certification across grades 7-12. This comprehensive curriculum covers diverse scientific disciplines including earth science, geography, biology, chemistry, and physics, with students selecting one specialization area. The first four years focus primarily on science content courses, transitioning to teaching methodology instruction in the fourth-year spring semester. The culminating year combines remaining content coursework with specialized teaching methods classes and an extensive field experience, featuring a full academic year in a school district culminating with a 13-week student teaching practicum. Early academic advising is strongly recommended due to the carefully structured course sequencing requirements.
