The Master of Science in Kinesiology program mandates at least 30 credit hours for those pursuing the thesis track and 36 hours for the non-thesis coursework path. Each student collaborates with their advisory committee to create a customized study plan that aligns with their personal goals and academic focus. Up to 12 credits from related disciplines can count toward degree requirements. Both program tracks require students to showcase comprehensive knowledge of kinesiology through either written assessments or oral examinations.
Thesis candidates must publicly defend their research and submit their final document to the Graduate School as their culminating evaluation. Non-thesis students complete their program with a comprehensive written exam covering research methodologies and four core subjects drawn from their completed graduate coursework.
