The Printmaking program at Kansas State University offers students opportunities to explore both classic and modern image creation techniques. Rooted in a deep tradition of print artistry and technical expertise, K-State's program encompasses diverse approaches including Intaglio (etching), Relief (woodcut), Monotype, Lithography, Serigraphy (Silkscreen), Photographic, and Digital processes. Students pursue creative self-expression while working in a shared, cooperative studio space where safety remains paramount. The curriculum strongly encourages examination of printmaking's historical significance and current artistic applications.
KSU's graduate printmaking program consistently draws dedicated, self-driven individuals eager to explore artistic possibilities through print media. Admission decisions consider applicants' academic background, artistic vision, and growth potential. We celebrate each artist's unique abilities while deliberately keeping our graduate cohort intimate, typically comprising 1-3 students who receive personalized mentorship from Printmaking faculty. Accepted graduate students enjoy exclusive access to private studios, flat file storage, and round-the-clock use of all printmaking facilities.
