The Media and Communication department's graduate program in communication studies delivers a comprehensive curriculum exploring human communication theories and critiques. This program aims to equip students with diverse communication perspectives, preparing them for professional paths in academia, corporate sectors, legal fields, religious leadership, public service, and nonprofit work.
Located in Nichols Hall, a standout architectural landmark on K-State's campus, the communication studies program provides excellent resources. These include shared office spaces for graduate teaching assistants, a specialized departmental library, seminar rooms, and dedicated practice areas for debate and forensics. The university's strategic location near the Eisenhower and Truman presidential libraries makes it particularly advantageous for political communication scholars.
Ranked among the Midwest's premier communication graduate programs, our faculty prioritizes personalized guidance for each student's academic journey. With intentionally small class sizes, professors and students collaborate closely on shared research interests. Participants also have opportunities to engage with K-State's award-winning debate and forensics teams.
