Kansas State University's Student Affairs in Higher Education program prepares educators, administrators, service providers, and leaders to expand their expertise and develop professional competencies for roles in higher education institutions or educational organizations. The Ph.D. track caters to advanced scholars aiming to advance higher education knowledge and leadership through rigorous research training. This program integrates professional practice with theoretical foundations and scholarly inquiry. Recognized by the Kansas Board of Regents, the degree is formally titled Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Student Development. The Ph.D. in Student Affairs in Higher Education mandates completion of at least 90 graduate credit hours beyond the bachelor's degree. Students may apply up to 30 previously earned master's-level graduate credits toward this requirement, subject to committee approval.
