Graduates of this program will earn either a Bachelor of Arts or Science in political science along with a Master of Arts in Security Studies.
The Security Studies MA is an intensive cross-disciplinary program designed for those pursuing careers in national security, global relations, international politics, and transnational issues. It features distinguished faculty with extensive publications and a diverse cohort of students from around the world. While history and political science form the foundation of the Security Studies curriculum, students also benefit from interdisciplinary perspectives and coursework. The MA program attracts both recent undergraduates and mid-career military officers, with this varied professional background being one of its greatest assets. Most graduates pursue careers in international relations and global security.
This combined degree program offers significant time and cost savings, allowing students to complete both undergraduate and graduate studies in five years instead of the typical six. Through strategic course planning, students can apply nine credit hours toward both degrees, resulting in substantial tuition savings.
