You and your peers will enroll together as a group, progressing through a predetermined course sequence, typically meeting two or three nights weekly per term. Your studies incorporate hands-on practice in public schools, allowing you to implement classroom knowledge by regularly assisting K-12 students across different educational environments.
Throughout your practical training, you'll examine evidence-based teaching methodologies in actual classrooms - beginning with observation, then progressing to one-on-one tutoring and small group work, before eventually designing full-class lesson plans.
After finishing both academic requirements and field experience, you'll prepare for the most transformative phase: student teaching. Mentored by veteran educators, you'll take charge of a classroom, addressing pupils' academic and interpersonal growth daily. You'll develop and present lessons, discovering through experience what truly defines professional teaching.
