We aim to decrease cancer rates, deaths, and health impacts across the U.S. and worldwide through innovative epidemiological studies and educating future population health researchers.
This pivotal era in Cancer Epidemiology brings technological breakthroughs enabling more accurate exposure assessments, larger sophisticated databases, and novel analytical approaches. Johns Hopkins' Cancer Epidemiology team leads diverse public health investigations spanning the full cancer spectrum - from causes and early detection to prevention, control, monitoring, survivor care, and health inequities across multiple cancer types. The program prioritizes translational research and collaborative science, partnering with Johns Hopkins' Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and other institutions globally. Numerous faculty participate in major international research alliances with access to extensive datasets.
