Perfect for those with solid backgrounds in science and math plus at least one year of research or professional experience after earning a bachelor's degree, the ScM in Epidemiology is a rigorous two-year research program emphasizing the application of epidemiological and biostatistical techniques to contemporary public health challenges. Competitive candidates demonstrate enthusiasm for employing sophisticated quantitative approaches to examine public health data and effectively translating findings into practical solutions. Participants choose a specialized research track from the options provided, complete a minimum of 64 credits in epidemiology, biostatistics, and electives, pass a comprehensive written examination, develop a manuscript worthy of publication based on independent research, and showcase their work at an annual poster session. ScM graduates frequently transition into academic research roles or, after gaining professional experience, pursue doctoral degrees across various public health disciplines.
Admissions will waive this requirement for degree applicants only if a student has completed a four-year degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
