Qualification Requirements

To be admitted to the MSEM program, applicants must have: An accredited bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (or the equivalent of such a degree). Johns Hopkins undergraduates wishing to pursue a concurrent bachelors/masters degree, please click here. If you are graduating from your undergrad program before the fall, you are not a combined student; please apply as a full-time graduate student. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit proof of their proficiency in English before they can be offered admissions and before a visa certificate can be issued. Johns Hopkins prefers a minimum score of 600 (paper-based) or 250 (computer-based) or 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), and for the IELTS, a bandscore of 7.
