Computational Medicine (CM) is a growing field focused on creating mathematical and computational methods to study disease mechanisms, diagnostics, and therapies by integrating mathematics, engineering, and computer science. CM's fundamental strategy involves building computational representations of disease processes at molecular, physiological, and anatomical levels to enhance clinical outcomes. These methods offer valuable perspectives across biological domains, from genetics and genomics to cellular functions, tissue dynamics, organ systems, and pharmaceutical effects. The Institute for Computational Medicine (ICM), where CM originated, concentrates its studies on four primary domains: Molecular Medicine Computing, Physiological Medicine Modeling, Anatomical Computation, and Healthcare Analytics.
