The Master of Bioethics program represents a joint initiative between the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. This groundbreaking graduate program brings together multiple disciplines across academic divisions, designed to equip students from various backgrounds with the skills to address ethical dilemmas in both professional and public spheres. Advances in healthcare and medical research have yielded significant improvements in quality of life worldwide, from life-saving ventilators to disease-preventing vaccines. While these scientific breakthroughs have extended lifespans and reduced suffering while expanding medical knowledge, they simultaneously raise complex ethical considerations regarding implementation, equity, security, and moral responsibilities that affect both individuals and communities.
