The Biological Chemistry Graduate Program (GPBC) prepares future scientists for independent research careers while fostering professional growth and diverse career paths. Our PhD program centers on hands-on research experience, complemented by rigorous coursework, expert guidance, and career preparation. GPBC's discovery-driven approach aligns with Johns Hopkins' legacy as America's pioneering research institution and its current global leadership in academia. We actively encourage applicants from varied nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, and academic experiences. The Biological Chemistry Graduate Program maintains equal admission opportunities for both domestic and international candidates.
The School of Medicine accepts prerequisites completed at the community college level. In order to be competitive in the selection process, we encourage prospective applicants with community college prerequisites to supplement these courses by taking advanced courses in related subjects at their four year institution.
