The Department of Anthropology's graduate program equips students with the conceptual tools and analytical framework needed for anthropological thinking in socio-cultural studies.
Key program priorities include:
Instruction in anthropological theory alongside contemporary advancements across social sciences and humanities disciplines
Developing regional expertise through thematic issues rather than purely geographic perspectives
Cultivating the ability to situate research questions within anthropology's diverse historical traditions across different national contexts
The program supports students in designing customized learning trajectories that integrate various intellectual resources while addressing the complexities of practicing anthropology in an interconnected world.
Students who have taken some anthropology courses during their undergraduate education are welcome to apply to the anthropology PhD program.
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
