The Strings Department at Peabody Conservatory boasts an outstanding faculty of world-renowned artists.
These dedicated educators focus on mentoring aspiring musicians, helping them cultivate the abilities needed to pursue successful careers as dynamic, artistic, and adaptable performers. As accomplished chamber musicians, soloists, orchestra leaders, and recording artists, the faculty upholds time-honored performance and teaching traditions while equipping students with fundamental musicianship and technical prowess to meet contemporary musical challenges.
With faculty mentorship, Peabody students have triumphed in elite competitions and secured roles in renowned global orchestras. Alumni currently occupy positions—including principal and co-principal seats—in major ensembles like the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Their competition victories span prestigious events including the Tchaikovsky, Queen Elisabeth, and Paganini competitions.
English language Requirements:
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
