The Department of Classics serves as a premier hub for exploring classical studies, ancient Greek and Latin languages, and their modern interpretations. Our adaptable yet demanding curriculum provides students with comprehensive training in Greco-Roman languages and civilizations while supporting diverse scholarly perspectives on antiquity. We employ linguistic, historical, visual, and comparative methodologies to examine ancient cultures. Our undergraduate catalog features Greek and Latin language instruction across all proficiency levels, alongside interdisciplinary courses covering history, religion, art, archaeology, philosophy, legal systems, and mythology of classical civilizations. Qualification Requirements

You must submit an official record of academic performance for the equivalent of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades under the US system. All official documents must be accompanied by a verified English translation if the original document is not in English. Include any certificates, diplomas, or examination results marking the completion of secondary education or preparation for higher education (i.e., O- or A-level or IB exam results). Applicants should typically receive a minimum of 100 total for the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking). A score of 7.0 or higher on each band is expected on IELTS. A composite score of 120 or higher is expected for the DET with preferred.
