Business analytics employs technical methods to examine challenges and guide organizational decisions. It applies statistical analysis, operations research, predictive modeling, and computational algorithms to evaluate potential outcomes and determine optimal solutions. This discipline emphasizes leveraging data effectively to generate evidence-based conclusions that inform strategic business moves. When paired with skills in information system development, programming, and database management, the computer information systems degree with a business analytics specialization equips graduates for roles in advisory services, corporate intelligence, and data interpretation. Those pursuing the business analytics track within the computer information systems program cannot simultaneously complete a business analytics minor. These students may transfer to the information systems concentration instead, after which they become eligible to declare the business analytics minor - contingent upon fulfilling the prerequisites for upper-level BSAN courses, which are offered sequentially across three terms.
