The School of Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication brings together outstanding faculty, committed staff, gifted students, and enthusiastic alumni as one of the few independent programs nationwide focused on practical writing skills.
WRTC provides a comprehensive curriculum and diverse experiential learning opportunities. Students develop essential research, analytical, and technical abilities that prepare them for professional communication careers and advanced academic pursuits. Our faculty includes experts and professionals from various specialties such as rhetoric and composition, technical and scientific communication, creative nonfiction, professional writing, digital media, user experience design, gender studies, medical rhetoric, and environmental science writing.
The WRTC bachelor's programs combine three academic fields into an adaptable yet rigorous curriculum rooted in historical and theoretical foundations. This interdisciplinary approach trains students to work across subject areas while mastering various forms of writing, rhetoric, and technical communication.
