The Master of Urban Design (MUD) is an introductory, cross-disciplinary program addressing modern urban challenges across local, regional, and worldwide contexts. Designed mainly for graduates with professional degrees in architecture (BArch, MArch), landscape architecture (BLA, MLA), or urban planning (BSCRP, MCRP, MUP), the program brings together faculty from these and other related fields within the university. This 30-credit, three-semester (fall, spring, and summer) curriculum helps students incorporate design principles into urban environment analysis and development. Through active participation in a learning community, students develop skills to build more adaptable, flexible, and sustainable cities and regions in our evolving world. Additionally, the MUD program provides unique chances to join the College of Design's outreach initiatives and global programs, as well as collaborate on studio projects with international universities and professionals.
