MSE graduate students engage in cutting-edge research to develop innovative materials solutions across diverse fields including: Energy storage and transmission systems, Next-generation manufacturing and materials processing techniques, Advanced vehicle and propulsion technologies, Biomaterials and biomedical applications, Nanoscale materials, and Smart responsive materials. These students collaborate with our multidisciplinary faculty to tackle pressing global challenges while uncovering novel avenues for technological breakthroughs. Our program attracts a global cohort of students with varied technical backgrounds, leading to equally diverse career trajectories. Many alumni emerge as pioneers in academia, research, industrial sectors, healthcare, business, and government. The department provides three graduate degree pathways: the research-intensive Doctor of Philosophy, the Master of Science (with thesis or portfolio options), and the coursework-focused Master of Engineering. Additionally, we offer combined bachelor's/master's programs (BS/MS and BS/MEng).
