The Department of Economics at Iowa State University upholds a distinguished legacy of outstanding graduate education, offering a Ph.D. Program in both economics and agricultural economics.
To obtain the Ph.D. degree, students must complete 72 graduate credits, with a minimum of 48 credits from formal coursework. The remaining credits can be fulfilled through dissertation research, workshop participation, or supplementary courses. With approval from the Graduate College and the dissertation committee, students may transfer a restricted number of graduate credits from other institutions.
