The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) provides four pathways to obtain a graduate degree in electrical or computer engineering: a thesis-based Master of Science, a creative component Master of Science, a conventional Ph.D., or a direct entry Ph.D. program. Doctoral candidates have completed their degrees in as little as four years, while master's students typically finish within two years. Additionally, students can choose ECpE as their primary department to pursue advanced degrees through three interdisciplinary programs: bioinformatics and computational biology (Ph.D.), information security (MS, Ph.D.), and human-computer interaction (MS, Ph.D., and certificate options).
